I wanted to do segments on place with late night menus and that are open relatively late.
While Lemeac was open more than a decade ago, it still feels like a young bustling bistro. Opened a beautiful historical building, which was once home to the Lemeac Publishing house, the restaurant is simply stunning. Beautiful lighting, open spaces, and I love the decoration and the artwork. I think they have one of the best terrace in the city. While I could take a bunch of pictures around the restaurant, you can actually look at the restaurant in google map. It is simply a stunning restaurant.

This meal was liberally washed down with wine, beer and cocktails. Really nice wine list too.
This dish is the Boudin, known in english as bloodcake, with a celery root purée and a sauce made out of cider. The bloodcake might be the best thing Iv'e eaten all night. The cider was sweet and sour, the purée was creamy and velvety. The bloodcake was rich, complex, full of flavour and life. Sometime when you eat bloodcake and it isn't fresh, it has a weird foul taste, this isn't the case. This is amazing.
Crabecake, Sauce gribiche.
Crabcake was crunchy, with actual crab lumps in it. A gribiche sauce is made by emulsifying hard-boiled egg yolks, and chopped pickles, capers and some herbs. Delicious.

The legendary lemeac tartare, I like it a bit on the spicier side, so I ask for it relevé. The tartare was a spicy, beefy concoction. Good quality meat, hand chopped. The fries are amazing, crunchy, soft but still had some texture inside. They are some of the best in the city.
This is the braised short-ribs with pearl barley and some pickled beets. It was a great dish, the ribs was tender, full of flavour. The beets were especially good. The parley had an interesting snap, texture, it was good.
an espresso to finish the meal. It was well pulled
I would return again and again, really fun and good meal.
